I'm a Chinese teacher to foreigners with 16 years of experience. I began practicing Chinese calligraphy as a child and studied with a teacher at Beijing Normal University for three years.

Chinese calligraphy is a unique art form centered around the beauty of Chinese characters. This course aims to provide a fundamental understanding of Chinese calligraphy, enabling you to practice simple characters with basic strokes, gain an understanding of the structure of Chinese characters, and master the essential use of the brush.

We will start with the fundamentals and gradually advance to more complex concepts. The curriculum will cover everything from individual strokes to multiple strokes, as well as simple characters to compound ones. Additionally, you will gain insights into Chinese culture throughout the lessons.

Requirements

• No Chinese language knowledge required
• 3 tools required: Chinese calligraphy brush máobǐ， calligraphy ink mò， Chinese calligraphy paper xuānzhǐ (check lesson 1 and lesson2 for the tips of buying them)
